Sani Bagvan and Kantaka Sani, Sade Sani and Ardhastama Sani Sloka

Of all the nine planets, Saneeswara, the offspring of Surya and Chaaya, is said to rock over a person's fortunes throughout his or her life. Starting from the position of this planet in the horoscope to the corresponding placements of other planets, Lord Sani is believed to influence the course of one's life eventually in three cycles. When Saneeswaran resides in the 12th place, 1st and 2nd house,it is 7 1/2 Naatu Sani. When in the 4th house, it is Arthashtama Sani. When in the 8th house, it is Ashtama Sani. During these periods, he brings miseries and troubles the native which is considered to be the way of teaching morals necessary for a life. Of all the Saneeswara shrines, two temples that are famous, and believed to be the most sacred and the most efficacious for Sani bagawan is Singanapur, Thirunallaru.

Singanapur, village of saints lead by God Sani is situated at a distance of 6 kms from Ghodegaon on Aurangabad-Ahmednagar highway. The distance from Aurangabad is 84 kms and from Ahmednagar it is 35 kms. From Ghodegaon, any private transport has to be adopted up to the idol of Shri Shaneshwar and is open in all the seasons. The male devotees coming to this temple take the holy bath in the temple premises with only dhoti and enter the temple in wet clothes with puja items that includes oil to do abishegam on the idol. The devotees are themselves allowed to do the puja.

Speciality of the village: All homes in village are doorless as adviced by God Sani. Since many years homes have no doors and locks and are kept open all day and night. Yet not a single thief has committed a theft. Generations in this village have witnessed this for years.

Thiruunallaru

Thirunallar temple also called as Sree Dharbaranyeswara Swamy Temple is located at Tirunallar (Thirunallar) which is about 5 km west of Kaaraikal, on the Karaikal, Mayiladuthurai - Kumbakonam bus route, in Karaikal District, Tamilnadu.

The main deity here is Darbaranyeeswarar, a manifestation( swaymbu) of Lord Siva. He is also called Nallatreeswarar as worshipped by the King Nalla. There is also a unique vigraha of Swarna Vinayakar here. Pranamambika and Bogamartha Poonmulaiammai,Ambigai are the names of the goddess here, the consort of Lord Shiva.

To the right of the main shrine is the Saneeswara shrine. "Kattai Gopuram" is the name given to the tower of the shrine. He faces east with `Abhaya Varada Hastham' and so called as `Anugraha Murthi'. The deity glows in thousands of lit up ghee lamps.

Pooja methods and offerings:
Saneeswara bahavan is attired in black colour. The grain associated with him is sesame,
the flower - vanni and blue kuvalai , fabric - black cloth, gem - neelam (blue saphire),
food - rice mixed with sesame powder(especially black sesame) are offered during pooja.
