Aathma Suprabatham

Suprabatham is a sanskrit word meaning 'sweet morning'. Aathma Suprabatham is sung in early morning as a prayer to all Devas, Rishi's pleading that the day should be special and good without any hurdles of sickness, bad omens, unexpected mischaps. 
brhamamuraris thiripurantha kaarir
baanu: sasee boomisitho pudassa |
gurussa sukras sani raahu kethave;
kurvanthusarve mama suprabatham ||

pragur vashista krathu rangeeraassa
manu: pulasthya: pulahassa gowthama; |
raiyo mareesish syavanoatha thaksha:
kuruvanthusarve mama suprabatham ||

sanathakumarassa santhanassa
sanathano apyasoori
simhalou sa |
sabthasvaraas sabtha rasaathalaani
kuruvanthusarve mama suprabatham ||

pruthvee sa kanda sarasaas thathaapa:
sparsee savaayu: jvalanam sa theja: |
nabas sasabtham mahatha sanehava
kurvanthusarva mama suprabatham ||

iththam prabathe bramam pavithram
padeth smareth srunayaachcha thathvath |
thus swapna naasas thviha suprabatham
bavechcha sathyam bagavath prasathath ||

mahabaratham aakyanam kshithim kancha sarasvatheem |
brahmnaan kethsavam saiva
praatharuththaayaya keerththayeth ||

punayassloko sa vaidehee
punya sloko janaarthna: ||

The Solar Eclipse will be visible in India from 11:25:32 AM to 03:15:13 PM hrs (Indian Standard Time) on January 15th, 2010. The eclipse will pass between southern tip of India and northern Sri Lanka.While it will not be visible in USA and Canada, its visible also in
Africa, Bahrain, China, Dubai, Europe, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka.

  1. Do not perform any work during Surya Grahanam
  2. Temples are closed during Surya Grahan
  3. Take bath in Ganga or Brahma Sarovar rivers on Solar Eclipse
  4. Chant Mahamritunjaya Mantra of Lord Shiva and Ashtakshara Mantra of Lord Shri Krishna

Bairavar and speciality of Ashtami thithi

BairaverBairavar is considered to be a form of Lord Shiva who takes the responsibility of a secured life as even Lord Yama dares to near his devotees. He is found in the west part of all Shiva temples and he is observed to be the security of the temple. Thus one who adores Him will also get a secured life. If one prays for Lord Bairava for job security offering garland made of 11 r 21 or 17 lemon then his boon is granted wholeheatedly.

Every Ashtami is auspicious for Bairavar and especially the ashtami that comes before Amavasya is very good. Any prayer submitted to him and offered a deep or a garland of channa dal for 8 such ashtami is 100% accepted and is fruitful.The following is the slokam for Swarna Akarshan Bairavar who gives wealth, and all prosperity in life.
